Daniel Whiting
In Semester 1 of the 2021/22 academic year, my teaching includes:
Mind and World
A course for first year undergraduates on the history of philosophy, focusing on the metaphysical and epistemological views of early modern rationalists. The philosophers we will look at include Descartes, Elisabeth of Bohemia, Malebranche, Cavendish, Spinoza, and Leibniz.
Truth, Opinion, and Ideology
A course for third year undergraduates on the ethics of belief. It will explore such topics as: responsibility for believing; norms of truth and knowledge; pragmatism and evidentialism; pragmatic and moral encroachment; irrelevant influences on belief; and conspiracy theories.
If you are enrolled on one of these modules, you can find information and resources on Blackboard.
